Moshisi Lehlongwane is the Stakeholder & Partnerships Manager at Massmart Holdings, the group that operates some of South Africa’s largest retail chains including Makro, Builders Warehouse, Game, Dion Wired, Jumbo Cash & Carry, and many others.
Massmart has established a R200 million Supplier Development Fund, to assist South African small, micro and medium -sized business, who are either existing or potential suppliers to Massmart. The Fund is implemented over five years until 2017. The Fund targets all established local manufacturers, producers and significant assemblers of products that can be resold in the Massmart retail divisions. Preference but not exclusivity is given to black-owned and women-owned businesses. The purpose of the Supplier Development Fund is to assist suppliers to enhance the quality of their products or improve their production capacity.
Moshisi will be mentoring entrepreneurs on how to be best placed to list your your product with retailers, and specifically Massmart stores. He will also outline how entrepreneurs can be part of Massmart’s hugely successful Supplier Development Programme.
