About ‘Guest Entrepreneur’ Sbu Shabalala
Sbu Shabalala is CEO of JSE listed Adapt IT. Shabalala has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a postgraduate diploma in Financial Information Systems. With more than 19 years of IT experience, Sbu began his IT career at InfoWave where he gained Project Management experience in the implementation of Oracle Applications throughout the Illovo Group, with operations in various African countries.
InfoWave initially supported him, as an employee, to start his own business, Adapt-IT (Pty) Ltd in 2004. Sbu’s entrepreneurial skills blossomed, and in a short 4-year period he grew the SMME into a thriving ICT business. As a Director and Chief Executive Officer, Sbu has continued to grow Adapt IT exponentially, first through a merger with InfoWave Holdings in 2007, which effected the listing of Adapt IT on the JSE, and later through several acquisitions and expansions over the years.
